  • Issues With Walking: People who are having a deficiency in vitamin B12 in their body, tend to walk keeping their feet apart widely. Although this unsteady movement can also be due to other health issues but also a deficiency of vitamin B12 leads to peripheral nerve damage leading to such a movement. One may also complain of numbness in the feet too.
  • Tongue Getting Swollen: If you suffer from a swollenness on the tongue along with long lesions is an indicator of vitamin B12 deficiency in the body. In certain situations, the tongue even turns red with a sensation of needles and pins. 
  • Depression: A deficiency in vitamin B12 leads to depression along with other severe effects on the nervous system too. The judgment and reasoning power of the brain becomes impaired and the memory gets disturbed too. it also leads to bringing a change in mannerisms and personalities as well.

If the reports show a deficiency in the vitamin B12 levels in the body then the doctor generally treats the patient with vitamin B12 and folic acid.
