Kriti Sanon: Successful Actress Who Turned Into Producer
On Tuesday, Kriti Sanon declared her intention to become a producer. Together with her sister Nupur Sanon, she founded a production company named Blue Butterfly Films.
The most recent actress to join the trend of becoming a producer is Kriti Sanon. The Adipurush star declared the opening of Blue Butterfly Films, a production company she co-founded with actress Nupur Sanon.
But before Kriti, a lot of top Bollywood actresses made the transition to producing. Either producing fresh content for themselves or supporting up-and-coming voices and artists is the motivation behind the same. These female performers, many of whom did so at the height of their careers, are now producers.
The dark comedy Darlings, directed by Jasmeet K. Reen, was co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Alia Bhatt for Netflix India last year. She played the lead in the critically praised movie alongside Vijay Varma, Shefali Shah, and Roshan Mathew. Eternal Sunshine Productions is Alia’s label, and her goal is to produce “timeless, happy, and real tales.”
As a co-producer of Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak with Fox Studios in 2020, Deepika made her production debut. She played an acid attack survivor in the movie and starred opposite Vikrant Massey. In 2021, Deepika co-produced Kabir Khan’s historical sports drama 83 under the Ka Productions banner. Along with Warner Bros. India, she is also working on the translation of The Intern into Hindi. She and Amitabh Bachchan play the parts originally performed by Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro in the slice-of-life movie.
One of the first female main actors in her generation to establish a production company was Anushka. She co-founded Clean Slate Filmz with Karnesh Sharma, her brother. The 2015 thriller NH10 by Navdeep Singh served as their first production. As a result, they gave birth to Anshai.
