Conflict Between Sachin Pilot And Gehlot Camp Grows Amid Allegations Of Corruption And Youth Issues
The Gehlot camp responded by dismissing Sachin Pilot’s requests as unrealistic a day after the Congress leader gave an ultimatum to the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government, expressing worries about corruption and youth-related issues.
Mahesh Joshi, a cabinet minister, expressed surprise and dismay over the corruption claims made against their own party’s administration by Pilot and Rajendra Gudha. The three points mentioned by Pilot were characterized as “incomprehensible and impractical” by Congress MLA Chetan Dudi of Deedwana un Nagaur, who supported Gehlot.
Dudi explicitly addressed Pilot’s demand that the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) be dissolved, reconstituted, and supported by new legislation. He emphasized that even the President accepts an RPSC member’s resignation, demonstrating that the RPSC is an autonomous constitutional body that cannot be disbanded. Dudi questioned the justification for intimidating young people with such expectations.
Pilot demanded the dissolution of the RPSC, compensation for students impacted by paper leaks, and a high-level investigation into corruption cases during the previous BJP government’s control during a rally marking the conclusion of his five-day Jan Sangharsh Yatra. Pilot threatened to start a statewide uprising if these demands were not satisfied by the end of the month.
The Pilot’s request for payment was rejected by Dudi, who argued that it was an unheard-of attempt to earn acclaim. He emphasized the strict measures taken by the Rajasthani administration to combat paper leaks, including the detention of more than 150 suspects.
Dudi asked Pilot to list the corruption cases that were still outstanding under Vasundhara Raje because the majority had been resolved by the High Court and the Supreme Court and mining leases had been terminated.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, a Union Minister, was also criticized by Dudi, who mentioned his alleged involvement in a scheme. He brought out how Pilot had received admiration on social media from the key suspect in the scheme. Pilot and his devoted MLAs were imprisoned in Manesar, Haryana, following their uprising against the authorities in 2020, according to Dudi.
Subhash Garg and Ramlal Jat, two other Gehlot camp ministers, shared the mood by denouncing Pilot and his demands. They emphasized the government’s aggressive efforts to combat corruption and document leaks, as well as the sizable number of employment the government offers to young people. They asserted that the accomplishments of the government had rendered the BJP, the main opposition party, irrelevant in Rajasthan.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a leader in the Congress, endorsed Gehlot and claimed that if a list of capable chief ministers were made, Gehlot would be at the top of the list. He emphasized that the Congress party could meet any obstacle.
Assuming a neutral posture, AICC co-in-charge of Rajasthan, Qazi Nizamuddin, acknowledged Sachin Pilot as a solid supporter of the Congress party and said that the national president was keeping an eye on the situation. Govind Singh Dotasra, the state congressman in charge, declined to comment.
