Siraj Is Establishing Himself As An Ace White Ball Bowler With Is Stellar Performance In IPL 2023

Mohammed Siraj, a bowler for the RCB, had a disappointing IPL season in 2022 with nine wickets in 15 games and an economy rate of 10.08. To his credit, the gangly pacer for the Bengaluru team is making up for it in 2023 with an outstanding performance. He has already taken 14 wickets in just eight games and is in excellent form.

It has been an incredible transition for him to go from being a weak link in his team to leading the competition in wickets. His speed, consistency, and attitude are all distinct. M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is a challenging pitch for bowlers, but nine of Siraj’s 14 wickets have come on the level surface at his home stadium.

Siraj had undeniable red ball skills, but over the past year, he has quickly evolved into a master of the white ball, enabling him to play in all formats. His mastery of the wobble-seam delivery has been a game-changer for him in limited overs. He claims that by controlling his outswing as well, he can keep batters off balance.

In their match against the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, he dismissed the top-ranked T20 batsman in the world, Jos Buttler, in the very first over of the innings, as an illustration. Siraj broke Buttler’s middle stump by striking the longer length that has become his specialty this year.

He is efficient with the older ball as well thanks to the scrambling seam ball. While his teammates were getting destroyed on Wednesday against KKR, Siraj played well. The powerful Andre Russell was defeated by an inch-perfect yorker from Siraj.

“I feel at ease with any ball, regardless it is new or old. The rhythm is good, and the ball is coming out of the hand extremely well. With the swing, I’m getting a lot of wickets. I always turn to scrambled seam when it is not swinging because it is effective on any wicket.

He explained to Karthik his training routine and how important the warm-ups are to him, “I arrive in the morning and go about my business. I take the warm-up seriously. It gives me a sense of assurance.”

Siraj’s captains are unable to stop him from attacking since he is so driven by success. In a video that has gone viral, Rohit jokingly acknowledges his inability to prevent his star bowler from overthrowing Sri Lanka in the third one-day international.

With a key Test series (against Australia) coming up, the bowler ended up bowling 10 of the 22 total overs in the Lanka innings in search of his fifth wicket without care or worry of the upcoming important test series against Australia.

Given his recent improvement, the Hyderabad bowler is a strong candidate to make the team for the ODI World Cup in India later this year. There may be more obligation to bear because Jasprit Bumrah’s availability is uncertain. Siraj claimed that for the time being, he is relishing the responsibility of leading the RCB assault.
