Prior To The Third ODI Against Australia, Shubman Gill And Shardul Thakur Were Sent Home, And Axar Patel Was Ruled Out

The two top Indian players, Shubman Gill and Shardul Thakur will soon be joining the world cup campaign team for their next winnings. It is a proud moment for both of them as their outstanding performance made a record recently.

Shubman Gill And Shardul Thakur rested

Gill had just struck his record-setting sixth ODI century at the Holkar Stadium in the second game against the Australians.

They have been given a break by the team management, thus they won’t fly to Rajkot with the team. The two will next join the Indian team in Guwahati for India’s opening World Cup warm-up game.

Before the World Cup, the Indian team management has been considering how to manage a few players’ workloads. For the first two games against Australia, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav were all rested.

“Fortunately, we got a fair amount of cricket at the Asia Cup,” BCCI Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar had said in defence of the decision. If not, we would have viewed it in a different light. Guys occasionally require mental breaks in addition to physical ones, which is beneficial before a competition like the World Cup.

The three remaining matches against Australia will feature the four players at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. According to a BCCI statement issued on Sunday, Jasprit Bumrah will also be travelling with the Indian team to Rajkot after the star bowler was granted a break from the second ODI to spend time with his family. He had been replaced in the group by Mukesh Kumar.

All-rounder Axar Patel, who suffered a left quadriceps strain during the Asia Cup tournament, has been sidelined for the third game, according to a new report in Cricbuzz. Patel is currently receiving treatment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
