Kolkata Knight Riders Move To Number 5 In The Points Table Of IPL 2023 By Winning The Last Ball Thriller
Punjab Kings get defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders in a very dramatic match, and now the team of Kolkata night riders joints the ten-point logjam in the 2023 IPL points table. The match occurred at Eden Gardens, and Kolkata Kight Riders successfully made 181 runs. After winning the match, they consecutively secured this second victory of the season.
The captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Nitish Rana, set a great tone for the match by making 51 runs out of 38 balls before another player, Andre Russell, also played a great inning by making 42 runs out of 21 balls. The Last of the match depended on Rinku Singh as the team needed two runs from the final ball. He hit the boundary of Arshdeep Singh, and KKR won the match.
With this great win, the team of Kolkata Knight Riders is now able to join the four other teams Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals and these teams have also secured 10 points so far in the tournament. However, unlike other teams, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and PBKS have only played 11 matches. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore have only played ten matches so far in the tournament.

As the team had to change 180 runs, Kolkata night, riders started their game with a good start, and most of this was because of a good start by Jason Roy. And also say that the bowlers from the other side also played well, as Deep Singh was particular about his first innings and only gave away 21 runs in 2 overs.
Jason Roy was also particular to attack early on his innings. Even though re-run scoring was difficult in his first innings, Jason Roy was lucky to partner with Rahmanullah Gurbaz. They both settled into a nice rhythm before impact player of PBKS Nathan Ellis could deceive Gurbaz with a pack of his back-of-the-hand slower ball and trap him in his move of lbw.
As KKR captain Nitish Rana joined him on the pitch, Jason Roy continued to play aggressively and hit Sam Curran for a series of boundaries. Both hosts finished their power play with 52 runs only for one wicket.
The skipper of PBKS, Shikhar Dhawan, also introduced spin in the 7th over of the match in the KKR innings, but even with that, it was unsuccessful in stopping Jason Roy in the slot. He hit Liam Livingstone for two boundaries before getting stuck with a very dangerous opener.
This allowed PBKS to apply the brakes, and Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana could not break the shackles; the team KKR reached 76 runs for two wickets at the halfway stage of the match.
The Punjab Kings team successfully scored 200 + runs in their previous four matches this season, but their match failed against Kolkata night riders after Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to do so batting fast. Mixed results were received by PBKS in these four matches before their match against KKR, having lost two matches and won four out of them.
