Alia Bhatt Opens Up About Struggles Of Working And Personal Commitments
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married last year in April and welcomed daughter Raha in November. The actor admitted to facing trouble between work and her daughter Raha. She said she is afraid of what people might think of her as she continues to juggle work and personal commitments.
She added it makes her anxious at times when she thinks of managing work and baby Raha simultaneously. She said workplaces should grant time to new mothers instead of making her feel isolated and removed from projects.
The actor has worked throughout her pregnancy and started working soon after Raha’s arrival.
The actress said “There is still a healthy amount of mom guilt” while talking in an interview with Vogue India. She added “There is so much pressure on women to handle both at a time, especially against the old-school dogma that once you have a baby, you are not a model mum if you don’t martyr your career.
New mothers must take time off from work, and it is equally important for corporations and industries to grant them that time instead of separating them apart.

The actress further said that she goes to therapy every week to voice her fears of judgment and the struggle she faces while managing work and her parenthood. The actor was asked if her struggles are less challenging due to her professional status.
She said, “It definitely is, but I am still conscious of people’s judgment even if there is no judgment, we often feel critical of ourselves.”
The actor said she works hard on her mental health, she goes to therapy every week which helps her to understand that it’s not something that needs to be figured out in a day, or ten, or so on.
She added this is an ever-evolving process through which we have to pick up the pieces of ourselves and build a new every passing day. The actor said, there is no such thing as having all the answers or coping with everything excellently.
