Why Choose Peace Over Promotions: Advice from Young People

Young people do not lack ambition; they think differently. They have found their way to be happy. They are okay descending the career ladder.

Things are quite the opposite of what we were made to believe. Aim for a stable job, the teachers used today. Today, the same thought makes us nervous. Owning a house by 30 is definitely what most parents said, but the real-estate rates only soar higher than ever. Own a nice car, all the heroes in the movies said, but the money that goes into petrol, the parking problem in the city, and the harm pollution does to the planet were not revealed. A generation ago, the hustle mindset was promoted in a positive way. But young people aim for comfort, not titles or high-powered roles.

Why Choose Peace Over Promotions: Advice from Young People

Young people do not believe in a hustle mindset. They want to work in an environment that lets them be lazy. Success for young people is more about having time for themselves. A recent survey by a human resource company revealed how employees do not look forward to a promotion just because of the additional responsibilities that come with it. They will not quit quietly but loudly.

There should be enough time to be with the family whenever that may be. Young people would choose happiness any day over a fancy car, a fat paycheck, or even an expensive apartment. Young people will admit things are not working well for them. They do not want to pursue the idea of success set by society. They hate not getting to spend time with their loved ones or pursuing their hobby. They definitely do not want to spend all their years earning money. They want to step back and relax their mind and body when they feel the need. They do not find happiness in getting titles or promotions. They just want to enjoy their peace over anything else.
