Kangana Ranaut revealed that she has turned down films offered
Kangana Ranaut said in an interview that she has turned down the films purchased for her by various actors including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor. The actress spilled the beans on some serious titbits of working with Indi Bollywood celebrities such as Farhan Akhtar, Salim Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor. The famous heroine who later became well renowned for her gutsy performance and literal interpretation of the script explained how these stars felt when she turned down opportunities to act in their films.
She said no to big projects like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan with Salman Khan, Sanju with Ranbir Kapoor, and Singh Is Bling with Akshay Kumar, among many others. Moreover, she stressed that all those actors did not hold any grudge against her, proving their respect for each other.

In particular relation to Salman Khan; Kangana shared that he was astonished by her declining roles in both Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan. “When I refused to do Bajrangi Bhaijaan for him then I asked what role is this as my character was so prominent? Then he called me for Sultan and said ‘Ab isse zyada kya role chahiye. Heroines ka aesa hi role hota hai’ (What better role do you want? Heroines get such roles).” Also, despite saying no to it Kangana emphasized that Salman has always been sweet towards her and they continue to maintain a friendly relationship.
Kangana also had an amusing interaction with Akshay Kumar, who was confused by her multiple rejections of his movies. Remembering their conversation, she said, “Akshay called me and said, ‘Tu na mere saath hi kaam nahi karna chahti hai. Tereko na mujhse koi problem hai’ (You don’t want to work with me. You have a problem with me). I told him it wasn’t personal and that honestly, there was nothing wrong on my part.”
Moreover, the actress also recounted how Ranbir Kapoor came to her house to persuade her to join the Sanju star cast directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Kangana said, “Ranbir came to my house and requested, ‘Sanju mein role karle please’ (Please do a role in Sanju).” However, despite Ranbir’s request, Kangana chose not to be a part of the film.
In spite of all these occurrences though, Kangana clarified that she makes decisions based on her artistic gusto rather than harboring grudges against anyone. She thinks people in the industry know what she means and appreciate her for being frank about things affecting her career. “People are very kind to me. They recognize that I’m not speaking for my little gain,” she stated when talking about the friendship she has with her colleagues. Kangana’s revelations offer a glimpse into her uncompromising spirit as an artist who gives priority to her artistic vision over monetary gains. Her encounters with the industry’s most famous actors reflect mutual respect that is more than professional squabbles. Despite rejecting roles from some of the biggest projects in film, Kangana still has warm relationships with fellow actors thus showing that even those she does not work with hold her choices in high regard.
