Specialists will be hired on a trial basis for the six schools and a budget of ₹30 lakhs has been allotted for the buying of sports machinery and yorkers. Each school is going to select 50 students of classes 6th to 9th for marching activities which will take place once in week for 75 minutes.
This has been carried out and the object/aim of the program in my view, will not only improve physical fitness and mental wellness of the learners but will also be of benefit to the society as a whole, Mayor Priah espouse. Programs like these can help curb violence and encourage peace and patriotism, she said.
Aside from the training in sports and martial arts, the Chennai Corporation is also taking measures to enhance the general quality of education within the compulsory schools. This defensive action raised question, because according to the teachers systematized in the coinage of the Manali Chennai Corporation School, memos were served to teachers involved in protests.
The Mayor gazed assuredly at the inquisition stating this was not related to the memos regarding the teacher’s involvement in any protests. She said, these were memos served relating to the long disengagement of the classroom discipline and the completion of homework arithmetics that had curtained the previous regime.
It is rather admiration for the Chennai Corporation’s decision to introduce sports training and martial arts training to the students is towards adopting an all-round development in the education of the children, something aimed at empowering the youth. The investment is therefore focusing towards the future of the community. They extend conventional classroom instructions to shape all rounded persons who are not only good in books but are mentally strong, healthy and take their ethical responsibilities seriously. Like in any other organized activities like sports when one is a participant in martial arts or any other physical activity, then they are bound to have some character traits developed such as discipline, working as a team, leadership and endurance. These measures will enable them gain the desired objectives in their course and future life. Chennai Corporation believes investing in students’ health, both mental and physical indicates that the organization is ready to provide a high level of education that will give the youth the ability to compete fairly.
