Zeenat Aman Recalls Her Co-Star Dev Anand
Zeenat Aman penned a note for her ‘Starmaker’ Dev Anand in her recent Instagram post. The actress mentioned how he helped her to get the role in the blockbuster movie Hare Rama Hare Krishna. The black and white picture with Dev Anand from her earlier days with an engaging caption made her fan Wow.
The veteran actress further wrote “Before entering an industry like Bollywood every actor hopes for a Starmaker who sees the potential that has perhaps only been visible to the self thus far. Only a few are lucky enough to find such a person, and I was one of them. My Starmaker was Dev Anand Saab.
The actress also mentioned how she was ready to move to Malta with her mother and stepfather while Dev Anand Saab insisted her mother stay back for a movie shoot. In 1970, the actress played a role in O P Ralhan’s directed Halchal movie, which had made a little impact and it was the time when she was thinking to move to Malta.
At the same time, Dev Anand Saab and his Navketan team were casting for Hare Rama Hare Krishna. And the director O P Ralhan suggested the name of actress Zeenat Aman. After insisting on my mother not leaving the country before the movie shoot, the actress and her mother stayed in a hotel in Kathmandu until she called for the shoot.
The actress revealed how she was ready to leave the country yet again after the shooting. But Dev Anand Saab managed to make them stay until the movie saw a release. After the release, everything changed for her, the blockbuster hit movie made her an unforgettable star in the industry. She further mentioned how Dev Anand Saab started writing another script with her in mind.

Dev Anand, Zeenat Aman, and Mumtaz starrer this film was released in 1971. This was a huge hit at that time, which made the actress popular in Indian cinema. The movie is based on the Hindi language Indian musical drama. The actress has received The Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award and BFJA Award for best actress for the movie.
